Talons Sports Roundup for Weeks of Nov. 17 and 24: Men's Basketball Remains Winless

Men’s Basketball

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, the men traveled to Kishwaukee Community College in Malta, Illinois, where they fell to the Kougars, 66-76. Coach Donte Burt said Davion Bland led the Talons with 16 points and five steals.

The home opener on Saturday, Nov. 22, against Waubonsee Community College, added another loss to the team, 86-115.

The men traveled to Black Hawk College in Malta, Illinois, on Monday, Nov. 24. The Talons scored 62 points, which was not enough to match the 106 points scored by the Braves.

With the Thanksgiving holiday coming up, the Talons' next matchup is Saturday, Dec. 6, when they host College of DuPage.

Women’s Basketball

The Talons Women's Basketball team also traveled to play Kishwaukee Community College on Nov. 19, losing 52-63. Coach Aaron Dobbs said Gracie Schmidt led the Talons' scoring with 18 points, and Shelbi Marx had 14 points in the second half. Arrianna Eubanks and Nevayah House each had six assists, while Cassie Cooley pulled down 15 rebounds.

On Nov. 22, the Talons hosted Waubonsee College and fell to the Chiefs, 52-93. Dobbs shared that Marx and House each sank 15 points, with House also grabbing nine rebounds. Eubanks blocked three shots and Schmidt shot a trio of three-point shots from downtown.

The women's next game will be against Harry S. Truman College at home on Dec. 6.
