The Talons Clay Target Shooting Team shoots at the Janesville Conservation Club. The team will compete in five consecutive weeks of competition through the week of Oct. 20.

Meet Coach Tim Rockhold

Background:

  • From the Quad Cities; played football and wrestled at United Township High School.
  • Attended Truman State and Western Illinois University.
  • Competed in powerlifting, qualifying for collegiate nationals and winning state titles in Iowa and Illinois.

Coaching Philosophy:

  • Focuses on a shooter’s strengths rather than enforcing a specific technique.
  • Believes in improving what each shooter does well and adapting techniques to individual needs.

Fall 2024 Season Schedule

Aug. 1: Team and student athlete registration opens.

Sept 9: Team and student athlete registrations closes at noon CT. Last day for athlete and/or team withdrawal for registration fee refund.

Sept. 15: Practice/Reserve Week begins.

Sept. 18: Conferences announced. College National Championship registration opens.

Sept. 22: Competition Week 1 begins.

Sept. 29: Competition Week 2 begins.

Oct. 6: Competition Week 3 begins.

Oct. 13: Competition Week 4 begins.

Oct. 14: College National Championship registration ends at noon CT.

Oct. 20: Competition Week 5 begins.

Oct. 28: Season final results posted.

Nov. 1-3: College National Championship

Nov. 4: Season Award shipments begin.
