The Talons Clay Target Shooting Team shoots at the Janesville Conservation Club. The team will compete in five consecutive weeks of competition starting the week of April 20.

As of Oct. 28, after the final week of competition, the Talons finished in sixth place overall out of seven teams. The team had its best individual round as a team in the first round of week five. Jillian Schue finished ninth in the conference for females with her two best weeks of the season coming in weeks four and five.

Marlin Ree finished in the top position for the team with a 22.5 average, three targets short of finishing in the top ten in the conference for males. Teygen Riley-Oschner was the most improved player of the season and Joshua Hurda was newcomer of the year with an 80% average throughout the season.

Meet Coach Tim Rockhold

Background:

From the Quad Cities; played football and wrestled at United Township High School.
Attended Truman State and Western Illinois University.
Competed in powerlifting, qualifying for collegiate nationals and winning state titles in Iowa and Illinois.

Coaching Philosophy:

Focuses on a shooter’s strengths rather than enforcing a specific technique.
Believes in improving what each shooter does well and adapting techniques to individual needs.
