Spring Sports Preview: Golf and Clay Target Shooting

The spring 2026 sports season is getting underway, and Blackhawk Technical College has two Talons teams that can’t wait to compete.

Men’s Golf

The first to get started is the Men’s Golf team. The opening match of the 2026 spring season will happen April 6 when they travel to the Judson University Spring Invite in West Dundee, Illinois. After that, they’ll have two more matches in venues in Illinois.

Coach Nick Hagen is returning to lead the team.

“I’m very pleased to have our starters returning, and I am looking forward to the April tournaments. The team is continuing to be mindful of the short game, and I anticipate we'll have personal best score numbers coming up this spring and fall–which were within reach in 2025,” Hagen said.

The golfers are:

  • Connor Ciembronowicz
  • Ryan Daschner
  • Corbin Kersten
  • Wyatt Marshall
  • Koen Lueck

Coed Clay Target Shooting

The Clay Target Shooting Team uses the Janesville Conservation Club. The team will compete in five consecutive weeks of competition, starting April 19. They begin practicing March 29.

Coach Tim Rockhold said, “I am looking forward to the spring season for many reasons. Jillian Schue and Teygen Riley-Ochsner have been a part of the team and are finishing their last semester at Blackhawk. One-third of our team is new, we have a strong returning core, and we have almost an even split between male and female members. Our team averages have consistently trended upward, and I see lots of opportunities for improvement.”

Shooters include:

  • Braunson Dietzman
  • Teygen Riley-Ochsner
  • Jillian Schue
  • Monica Reif
  • Elijah Jenkins
