Blackhawk Talons Golfers In Action This Fall
The Blackhawk Talons Men's Golf Team has officially kicked off their inaugural season, competing in two invitationals so far this fall. The Talons made history at their first-ever competition on August 23rd, participating in the Highland 36 Invitational at Park Hills Golf Club in Freeport, Illinois, hosted by Highland Community College. Leading the way for Blackhawk was Ethan Hale (Beloit Turner), who posted a 36-hole score of 169 (89-80).
The team returned to action on August 30th and 31st at the Culver's Classic, hosted by Edgewood College at Glen Erin Golf Club in Janesville. Over the two-day, 36-hole event, the Talons demonstrated improvement, posting a team score of 374 on Day 1 and bettering that performance by seven strokes on Day 2 with a score of 367. Ethan Hale once again led the Talons with an individual score of 165 (83-82), while teammate Owin Lewellin (Janesville Craig) was close behind with a score of 166 (85-81).
“We're incredibly proud of how our team has performed in their first competitions,” said Matt Yarc, Coach of the Blackhawk Talons Men's Golf Team. “The team is growing stronger with every event, and we’re excited to see how they continue to improve as the season progresses.”
