Losses on the Road for Talons Women’s Volleyball

The Talons Women’s Volleyball team competed in the Waubonsee Chiefs Tournament in Illinois on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19-20. In day one competitions, Waubonsee beat the Talons 25-13, 25-20, and 25-14. The Talons also fell to Carl Sandburg College 25-16, 25-18, 19-25, and 25-23.

On the second day of the tournament, Mikaela Hoffman put in a great effort against Highland Community College, Coach Brandy Salonga said, but the match ended with scores of 25-12, 16-25, 25-8, and 25-13. Against Sauk Valley Community College, the Talons again came up short with games of 25-8, 25-10, and 25-15.

The Talons are currently 7-9 overall. The women will compete on the road against Kankakee Community College at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23. On Saturday, Sept. 27, they will face Joliet Junior College at home in the Public Safety Center on the Beloit-Janesville Campus.
