Sports Roundup: Week of Sept. 7
Men’s Golf
Blackhawk’s men’s golf team competed against 22 other teams at the Judson Fall Invitational on Sept. 11 at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois. Koen Lueck led the Talons with a college career low score of 77 (tied for 34th place), which included a stretch of -1 in his final eight holes of the day. Sawyer Dominy shot 83 and Ryan Daschner had 84, which were also within a few strokes of their season average scoring. Wheaton College won overall with a score of +1 for the team.
Coach Nick Hagen said, "We had a good day for golf in this big tournament at Randall Oaks, with lots of colleges competing. Koen has been on the edge of his college scoring barrier multiple times, and it was great to see him bust that down today. He played well at this challenging golf course, and deserves the spotlight."
Their next competition is on Tuesday, Sept. 22, when they travel to the Nettle Creek Country Club in Morris, Illinois, to play in the Clash at the Creek tournament.
Women’s Golf
The Talons women golfers had the week off. Their next competition is Sept. 22 when they compete at Clash at the Creek at the Nettle Country Club in Morris, Illinois.
Women’s Volleyball
Blackhawk Technical College’s women’s volleyball team traveled on Sept. 10 to face College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. They fell 0-3.
On Sept. 12, they competed in the Tri-Match Tournament at Bay College in Escanaba, Michigan. This was also a 0-3 loss.
Next up, the Talons will host Prairie State College at home in the Public Safety Center on Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m.
