Blackhawk Technical College’s Talons Men’s Golf team played against 20 other teams at Glen Erin Golf Course in Janesville over the Labor Day weekend.

University of Dubuque won overall with a team score of -4, while the Talons finished in 21st place with a score of +153.

Wyatt Marshall secured another top 20 finish at +7 for the 36-hole tournament (rounds of 74, 75). Ryan Daschner posted a season best round of 86 in the final round (including a three over par 39 on the front nine), and Connor Ciembronowicz holed out twice from off the green in the first round.

Talons Coach Nick Hagen said day 1 of the tournament was difficult due to unexpected weather conditions. Throughout the round, the golfers had to contend with rain and cold temperatures. Golf for the day finished later than expected, and the turnaround for next morning tee times was less than 12 hours.

“I was very proud of the composure our team showed during the challenging weather day on Friday. The attitudes were positive, and it was great to see our guys embrace the day without complaint. They represented the college well, and that resilience was present throughout the tournament,” Hagen shared.

Next up, the team travels to West Dundee, Illinois, this Friday, Sept. 5, for the Judson University Fall Invite.
