The Talons Men’s Golf team competed in the 14-team Skyhawk Fall Classic golf tournament on Sept. 25 and 26. The two-day tournament was held on two different golf courses–Timber Creek in Dixon, Illinois, and Deer Valley in Deer Grove, Illinois. Illinois Central College finished in first place, finishing +1 with a two-day total of 573. The Talons finished 12th, finishing +143 with a two-day total of 715 for the tournament.

“Day two was a particularly challenging day, with a dry/fast golf course, wind gusts over 15 mph, and multiple holes with hazard areas both left and right of fairways,” Coach Nick Hagen said.

The Talons’ Wyatt Marshall had another top 25 finish, completing the tournament with a two-day total of +10 (153), which included a great closing nine-hole score of 36 in the final round. Koen Lueck also had his season low score of 80 in round one of the tournament, and he finished in 42nd place with a two-day total of 165. Lueck also had nine-hole scores of 39 in both tournament rounds.

The Talons will visit the Oaks Golf Course in Sun Prairie on Oct. 3 for their final competition in the Madison CC Invite.
