Talons Sports Roundup for Week of Dec. 8: Losses for Basketball Teams
Women’s Basketball
The Talons Women's Basketball team hosted Highland Community College on Dec. 10. They lost 61-67.
Coach Aaron Dobbs shared some highlights:
- Shelbi Marx had 18 points and 13 rebounds.
- Gracie Schmidt had 15 points, all from three-point range.
- Arrianna Eubanks added 13 points.
- Nevayah House sunk 10 points.
- Cassie Cooley pulled down 10 rebounds.
On Dec. 13, the Talons took on Lincoln Land Community College, taking another loss of 30-66. Schmidt scored 14 points and Marx had 11, but it wasn’t enough for the win. Coach Dobbs said Lincoln Land was ranked fifth in the country, and the women were down by nine points in the third quarter before one of the starters was injured.
The next game is Thursday, Dec. 18, when they travel to battle Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Men’s Basketball
On Dec. 9, the Talons hosted Prairie State College. They came up short 84-79.
On Dec. 11, they hosted McHenry County College. They were outscored 105-81.
Next up, the men travel to face Milwaukee Area Technical College on Dec. 18.
