Talons Sports Roundup for Week of Dec. 15: Women Bring Home a Win, But Basketball Losses Continue
Women’s Basketball
The women's basketball team traveled to battle Milwaukee Area Technical College on Dec. 18. They lost 36-58.
Coach Aaron Dobbs shared some highlights:
- Nevayah House scored 12 points.
- Cassie Cooley pulled down nine rebounds.
On Dec. 20, the women played Morton College on the road. They outscored the Panthers 63-50 to bring home their second win of the season. Coach Dobbs shared:
- Gracie Schmidt was the top scorer with 15 points from five three-pointers.
- Nevayah House put up 14 points.
- Arrianna Eubanks added 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
- Shelbi Marx contributed 10 points and 12 rebounds.
- Jazzanay Seymore came down with 10 rebounds.
The next game is Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, when they visit South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois.
Men’s Basketball
The men’s basketball team traveled to Milwaukee Area Technical College on Dec. 18. Athletic Director Nile Finney, who coached the game, shared some stats:
- Kwame Hawkins was the top scorer with 28 points and four assists.
- Jaymion Copper finished with seven points, seven assists, and eight rebounds.
- Jeremiyah McAllister added 15 points and six rebounds.
Despite these efforts, the Talons came up short, losing 120-73.
On Dec. 20, the team traveled to Morton College. They fell 97-80 even though Hawkins scored 26 points, McAllister added 20, and Aidan Maves shot for 14.
The next matchup won’t happen until Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, when they face Bryant and Stratton at home at 3 p.m. in the Public Safety Center on the Beloit-Janesville Campus.
