Talons Sports Roundup for Week of Jan. 5: Basketball Teams Lose on the Road
Women’s Basketball
The women’s basketball team traveled to South Suburban Community College in South Holland on Jan. 6. Jazzanay Seymore scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Nevayah House, Gracie Schmidt and Kamille Thomas each contributed nine points. Despite their efforts, the team lost 53-61.
Against Madison College on Jan. 10, the women fell 50-81. Seymour had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Other key contributors were Thomas, who had 10 points, and Shelbi Marx, who added nine to the team’s effort.
Next up, the team travels to Wilbur Wright College in Chicago on Tuesday, Jan. 13. After that, they play Bryant and Stratton College at home on Saturday, Jan. 17.
Men’s Basketball
The men’s basketball team traveled to South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois, on Jan. 6. The Talons fell 67-116.
Playing away against Madison College on Jan. 10, the men lost again 74-104.
The next matchup is Tuesday, Jan. 13, when they play Black Hawk College at home. On Saturday, Jan. 17, they will travel to Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois.
Bowling
The Talons participated in the Storm Baker Challenge in Addison, Illinois, on Jan. 10-11. The team placed eighth out of 10 teams with a total of 6,592 pinfalls. The bowlers will return to Addison to compete in the ISBPA Collegiate Classic on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 17-18.
