A dedicated and passionate leader in the local sports community, he has spent over a decade coaching youth sports in Evansville, including basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer.

His coaching résumé includes experience at nearly every level—from youth leagues to elite high school travel teams. Coach Dobbs served as the Varsity Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach at Evansville High School for four seasons and is currently in his fourth year as a Varsity Assistant on the high school football team, where he also serves as the JV Defensive Coordinator. Welcome to our “Get to Know Blackhawk” series, which uses a Q&A format to showcase the diverse and talented individuals within the college community.

What is your name? Where did you grow up and what high school did you attend?

Emily Roessler. I grew up in Clear Lake, Wisconsin and attended Clear Lake High School.

Why did you choose to attend Blackhawk Technical College?

I chose Blackhawk because of its great reputation with the Culinary Arts Program.

What is your area of study? Is there something that drew you to the program?

My area of study is Culinary Arts. I have always had a passion for baking and cooking and decided to pursue a degree in that area.

How has Blackhawk helped you to pursue or complete your goals?

When do you plan to graduate and what are your plans for life after Blackhawk?

I will graduate in May. My plans are to get a job in the Twin Cities area as a pastry chef or to work in a fine-dining restaurant.

What advice do you have for other individuals who are considering Blackhawk?

Just go for it. If you are nervous or have any apprehensions, the people at Blackhawk are amazing and will help you with anything. They make you feel right at home and will put you on the path to success.
