Talons Roundup for Week of Oct. 6: Women's Volleyball Lose, Bowlers Compete, Clay Target Shooters Finish Week 3
Women’s Volleyball
The Talons Women's Volleyball team traveled to College of Lake County on Thursday, Oct. 9, where they lost, 0-3. Match scores were 18-25, 17-25, and 20-25.
The team has a busy week ahead, with a match against McHenry Community College on the road on Wednesday, followed by a home game against UW-Whitewater at Rock County on Friday. The team will also compete in two matches at Rock Valley College on Sunday, the first against Rock Valley College and the other against Spoon River College.
Bowling
On Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 11-12, the Bowling team competed against 19 other teams in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, at Drkulas Lanes. Here are the results from the Great Lakes Bowling Conference #1 competition:

- Trevor Larson 52nd, total 770, average 154
- Shawn Houfe 96th, total 585, average 146
- Makenna Barry 98th, total 583, average 145
- Sam Budzien 104th, total 540, average 135
- Donaven Merritt 127th, total 431, average 143
The Talons, coached by Michael Bennett, are currently ranked 14th with a total score of 6,209 and a 151 average.
Clay Target Shooting
Week 3 results are in! Scores for each round and totals are:
- Alexis Seeley, 24 + 23: 47
- Jillian Schue, 22 + 21: 43
- Teygen Riley-Ochsner, 21 + 22: 42
- Braunson Dietzman, 12 + 14: 26
- Monica Reif, 10 + 8: 15
Seeley is in second place for females and tied for ninth place overall in the conference with an average of 46.67. Riley-Ochsner, 40.67 average, and Schue, 40.33 average, are tied for 17th overall. Schue is also ranked 10th for females. These three will be representing Blackhawk at the College National Championships the weekend of Oct. 31 with Seeley shooting in the gold division and Riley-Ochsner and Schue shooting in the silver division.
