Talons Sports Roundup for Week of Feb. 16: Basketball Wraps Season; Bowling Final Stats

Women’s Basketball

On Feb. 16, the women’s basketball team hosted Milwaukee Area Technical College. They lost 67-88. Kamille Thomas was the lead scorer for the Talons with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Jazzanay Seymore put up 16 points.Shelbi Marx and Cassie Cooley each had nine points.

“We did not come out on top, but it was a special game–Sophomore Night! They played hard; the ball just did not roll our way. We will always remember the commitment of Jada Anderson, Cassie Cooley and Shelbi Marx. It is such a pleasure to have coached them. They are hardworking, great teammates,” Coach Aaron Dobbs said.

On Feb. 18, the team hosted Bryant and Stratton College. This was the final game of the season, and the women fell 49-65.

Men’s Basketball

The Talons hosted Milwaukee Area Technical College on Feb. 16. The team, coached by Nile Finney, lost 53-125.

On Feb. 21, the team took on Morton Community College at home for their final game of the season. It was a close game, but the victory went to Morton 92-94.

Bowling

The end-of-season bowling statistics are in. After nine tournaments this season, here are the cumulative pin totals and averages for each Talons bowler.

• Trevor Larson: 5,486 pins; 161 average.
• Shawn Houfe: 5,698 pins; 158 average.
• Makenna Barry: 4,147 pins; 148 average.
• Donaven Merritt: 5,749 pins; 160 average.
• Karson Schumacher: 7,185 pins; 180 average.
• Sam Budzien: 3,628 pins; 145 average.
